American Tap gave Tapiture his 17th First-Crop winner on Oct. 26 with a very impressive score at Woodbine, exploding in the stretch to break her maiden by 4 1/4-lengths in six-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies.
Tapiture is second to only American Pharoah by First-Crop winners and also has three stakes horses to date. The Darby Dan stallion bred 114 mares this past season and over 630 in his first four seasons combined.
American Tap was between horses in seventh through the first quarter-mile, then moved up around the turn. Waiting for an opening at the top of the stretch, she found a seam soon after and swiftly went to the front and won going away in eye-catching fashion.
American Tap was bred by Tall Oaks Farm and is owned by Gary Barber.
